I’m Dan Binns and I live in the north-east of England. I draw or paint a picture every day. As a boy, I wanted a painting of Nigel Mansell to go on my bedroom wall but I couldn’t afford one. Someone suggested to me that I should learn how to paint one myself so I started trying to figure out how it’s done.

Like most things in life, it’s harder than it looks (but easy when you know how). I’ve given up more times than I can remember, but somehow I keep coming back and trying again.

I love Formula 1 and all other forms of motorsport, but the main thing is to be drawing, the subject doesn’t really matter for me.

I’ve been practising for 20 years now and I’ve got lots of pictures on my wall, but there’s always more to learn.
